The family day featured a bouncy castle, clown, magician, face painter and fun and games.

The event was supported by Moray Firth Radio who chose to include Grantown 250 as part of its Summer Tour.

The two events marked the start of Grantown 250 which is being held to mark the laying of the first stone of the first building in the town.

In the evening, a ball was held in a marquee in the grounds with a three-course meal and entertainment from Donnie Munro and Maggie Adamson.

Later, fireworks marked the end of the day and the start of the week-long celebrations.

There will be events taking place every day until Sunday, June 28.
